How Steroids Affect Women and Sex Drive

Women and Sex Drive

This topic is something that is usually swept under the rug.  In fact, you’ll run across people who don’t think these two words should ever be mentioned in the same sentence.  But shouldn’t the decision of a woman using steroids be left up to the woman?

Most women don’t want to ask a man for advice when it comes to steroid cycles simply because they don’t want to get bulky or add too much muscle mass.  In addition, it seems like men aren’t willing to give women advice regarding steroid use.  As a result, many women end up staying natural when it comes to lifting because they can’t get an honest, knowledgeable answer about how to use steroids.  That’s where we come in…

In this article we are going to talk about steroids and women.  What steroids can women use without “turning into a man?”  How do the dosages and cycle lengths for women differ from men’s?  Are there really women in today’s society who use steroids and will openly admit to it?

In today’s society, there is a growing number of women that use steroids and are not afraid to add some muscle, become leaner and even enter competitions.  In fact, women in bodybuilding have been around for many, many years.  Do you really think that all of the women who have competed over the years have done it naturally?  Or do you think that supplementing with steroids has helped transform their physiques into chiseled goddesses?

From bikini to figure, physique to bodybuilding and even fitness models that appear on nutrition ads and in magazines, most are supplementing with steroids.  We want to emphasize that in no way are we putting every woman on the spot and insinuating that all women in fitness use steroids.  We are simply trying to make women more comfortable with the use of steroids by providing enough information about these substances, the possible side effects and cycles that could be done.

What Steroids are Popular Among Women?

When it comes to what steroids women typically use, there is one that seems to be a given:  Anavar.  This steroid has been known as “the girl steroid” for years.  This does not mean that only women use Anavar.  Men of all fitness levels have cycled and continue to cycle with this steroid simply because it is known to burn fat and is considered mild when it comes to side effects.  Next on the list is Primobolan.  This comes in oral and injectable form, but most will use Primobolan Depot (injectable form).  Third on the list is Winstrol.  This steroid comes in oral and injectable but those who are familiar with Winstrol know that the injectable form is extremely painful.  For this reason, most opt to use oral Winstrol.   This form works identical to the injectable form.

Clenbuterol is extremely popular among women when it comes to fat loss.  For those who don’t know, Clenbuterol or Clen for short, is not a steroid.  It is a thermogenic stimulant that is used alongside steroids or alone to promote fat loss.

The list of steroids used by women does not stop with the three we listed.  There are women who use more harsh steroids and run cycles that stack more than one steroid at a time.  We cannot prevent women from using steroids.  We can only inform them about the benefits, side effects and risks.  Women should be able to make their own decisions as men when it comes to the use of steroids.  We will discuss steroids used by women in further detail a little later in this article.

Dose and Cycle Length

It is important that a first-time female steroid user begin the cycle with a lower dose and gradually increase the dosage depending on how well she tolerates the particular steroid.  Some women will have a higher tolerance level than others.  This is no different than with men.

The same can be said for the length of a steroid cycle.  Typically, women are suggested to run a steroid cycle between four and six weeks and not to exceed six weeks.  Other women will push the envelope and run cycles for longer periods of time.  While we don’t recommend this, we also cannot say there is a rule set in stone for cycle lengths.  Steroid cycles are created and run on an individual basis.

Solo Cycles for Women

Now that we’ve provided a bit of a background regarding steroids and women, it’s time to outline the most basic solo cycles for women.  Keep in mind these cycles are just examples and dosages can be increased on an individual basis.

Cycle #1

Week Anavar
1 10mg per day
2 10mg per day
3 10mg per day
4 10mg per day

Cycle #2

Week Oral Winstrol
1 20mg per day
2 20mg per day
3 20mg per day
4 20mg per day
5 20mg per day

The cycles above are the most basic steroid cycles that women can start with to assess the tolerance level of each compound.  Dosages can be bumped up gradually as each female sees fit.

Cycle #3

Novice women curious about injectable steroids can run a four to six week cycle using Equipoise.

Week Equipoise

3 75mg per week
4 75mg per week

Cycle #4

Our last cycle is the ever so popular two weeks on/two weeks off Clenbuterol cycle that many women run for weight/fat loss.  Daily cardio is recommended while cycling with Clen.

Benefits of Steroids in Women

Steroids will not turn women into men.  Women who use steroids in moderation and listen to their bodies can get amazing results from a cycle.  Diet and exercise must go hand in hand with a steroid cycle to reap the maximum benefits.  Those who use Anavar, Primobolan, Equipoise and Winstrol, eat clean and incorporate weight training with cardio can gain muscle but still keep their feminine shape.  Muscle gains from such low dosages can make women leaner and more toned while providing some muscle definition.

Steroids can provide the following benefits when used by women:

  • Encouraging healthy muscle growth;
  • Helps to build lean muscle;
  • Enhances the fat burning process by ramping up the body’s metabolism;
  • Increase in strength and endurance;
  • Helps to tighten and tone the body.

What is Post Cycle Therapy and Do Women Need PCT?

Post Cycle Therapy or PCT is an essential process that people go through once they’ve finished a cycle of steroids. The objective is to get their body back to its normal state so it can start naturally producing hormones again.  Once a run of steroids is over, a user will start their post-cycle therapy.

PCT is essential to prevent long-term impairment of testosterone production in the body.  Without PCT, testosterone levels may never return to normal and replacement therapy may be required permanently.

PCT is not required for women that use steroids.  If a woman plans to run PCT after completing a steroid cycle, it is essential to research any and all supplements that may be taken because PCT drugs may carry the risk of unwanted, negative side effects.

Women want to talk about their steroid use.. Why it’s important to be open

Women and steroids will always be a very controversial topic, and one that no one seems to agree on.  But why?  If women were as open as men about their steroid use maybe the topic wouldn’t be frowned upon as much.  At least that’s what one women we spoke had to say about the issue.

Some simply do not understand anabolic steroids enough to provide advice to women when it comes to cycling gear.  And, there are even many medical professionals who feel that anabolic steroid therapy even for valid medical application in females should be avoided at all costs. No matter how you look at it, anabolic steroid use for the purpose of physique and performance enhancement among adult women continues to increase.

Anabolic androgenic steroids, or AAS, are always by nature androgenic.  Women who use steroids are not exempt from the side effects that can develop such as deepening of the voice, growth of facial and bodily hair, and masculine features throughout the body.  But, there are additional effects to be concerned with that are mostly due to the nature of the female physiology itself, as the female body is not optimally functional in a high-androgen environment, and vice-versa for males.

Regardless of the fact, the use of steroids by women will continue to grow.  But, why do a lot of women turn to men for advice when it comes to what steroids to take or how to run a proper steroid cycle?  The answer is simple.  There are not enough women who openly admit to using gear.  If more women were open about their use, females who are considering steroids for the first time would have an easier time gettiing reliable, honest advice.

We’ve been in this industry for a long time and speak to people all over the world (men and women).  We spoke to one woman in the fitness industry to openly admits to her use.  “Why should I hide it?  “ I want to help other women out there that are afraid to start using steroids because of the misconceptions that are plastered all over the internet.”

One of the questions that she gets over and over from beginners is, “What are some of the safest steroids I could use as a beginner?”  This is common for newbies who are skeptical about gear in general.  She broke it down for us with her two favorite compounds.

Her number one choice for women just starting out in the steroid world is Anavar.  This is referred to as the “girl friendly” steroid because of the mild side effects that the user may or may not experience.  This steroid can be used in small doses, such as 10mg per day for up to eight weeks.  Females will burn fat, speed up the body’s metabolism, gain some strength, lose weight and build some muscle.

Her second choice for women is Primobolan.  This steroid is available in either pill or injectable form.  Also along the more mild side when it comes to side effects, Primobolan works to make bones stronger in addition to burning fat and gaining muscle.

The question remains, “Why is steroids and women one of the most untalked about topics in the fitness industry?”   Instead of pushing this subject under the rug, why not break the silence and acknowledge steroid use?

A woman that works for us explains that while she is NO steroid expert, she knows the basics about each compound and can openly speak about what works for her.  She has given tons of advice to women on all fitness levels about what to take, how long to take it, what to look for with side effects, how to eat, and what kind of results to expect.  She can also tell you from experience what NOT to take.  She always provides her honest opinion and offers guidance to users that may have questions or want to learn all there is to know about steroids.

Women are portrayed by social media (instagram, facebook, magazines, etc.) as having a perfect body and achieving this body “naturally.”  These women won’t tell you they take stimulants like Clenbuterol, or steroids such as Anavar and Winstrol to get a certain look or physique.  But, what about all the girls that look up to these women and think they can also achieve that type of look or body?  Isn’t that giving them false hope?  And what happens if these girls are training their butts off and doing everything that they see on social media but still can’t obtain this look?  They can face devastation and depression and maybe even worse…

If you are a female thinking about using steroids, we are here to offer suggestions, guidance and advice.  We understand it is very hard to find women that you can openly talk to with regards to steroids.  It is becoming more common to find steroid forums for women online.  These forums are made up of female members who have cycled with steroids and can answer questions or give advice when it comes to the best steroids for females.  It is easy to join any of these forums and start talking to these women about your fears or concerns.  Whatever you do, try your best not to ask a random male what steroids you should consider.  If you have a significant other, trainer or husband knowledgeable enough about steroids and who has your best interests in mind, he will be open and honest with you.

Conclusion:

A woman will experience an increase in leanness, muscle definition, muscle mass, weight and strength from the use of anabolic steroids.  Of course, not all women will use steroids and not all men will use steroids.  We can only provide information to both sexes so that when making a decision on whether or not to cycle with steroids, he/she is making a decision based on facts and research.

What works for one may not work for another.  Each individual has different genetics, body types, lifestyles and daily routines.  Cutting, bulking and strength cycles can be created on an individual basis and can be used on a trial and error basis.  Be accountable for your actions and your steroid cycles.

Women can compete on stage, can lift and train hard in the gym, can go all out and run steroid cycles and it is her business, not anyone else’s.  Worry about your own lifestyle and make decisions that affect your life.  How will you ever reach your maximum potential from a steroid cycle if you are more concerned with what women in your gym are taking steroids?  Before you know it, women will be stealing men’s gains and becoming beasts in the gym.  To all the women who are fearful of taking steroids, be smart when creating a cycle and make sure diet, training, discipline and the desire to transform exist in your everyday life.  Check out what steroids can do for the body, mind and soul.
